- The traditional carbon filters are special plastic containers that contain grains of activated carbon that can trap and bind grease and odors. These filters should be replaced regularly every three or four months. While using recirculation, windows and doors, and any air system with access to fresh air should be closed. The traditional recycling filters are special plastic containers, containing grains of active carbon which can catch and retain grease, smells and to some extent moisture as well. These filters have to be exchanged regularly, every 3 or 4 months.
