How can a sink be installed?
Inset mounting is the traditional method where a hole is cut for the sink in the countertop, and the sink is secured in place.
Undermounting is when the sink is glued and installed from underneath the countertop material. This method is used with laminate, wood, stone, and glass. (Undermount sinks must be factory installed.)
Flush mounting (also called level mounting) is where the countertop is milled for the sink's edge to be recessed, and the sink is glued in place. This type of installation creates a smooth surface between the countertop and the sink, making cleaning easier. (Flush mounting requires special tools).
Note! Prices and item numbers are not the same for inset and undermount sinks or for flush mount sinks.
