How to Clean Your Phantom Aspiration Hob

If you're the lucky owner of a stylish and exquisite Phantom hob with an integrated hood, it's important to develop good cleaning habits right from the start. By maintaining proper cleaning practices, you not only ensure an efficient aspiration hob but also prolong its lifespan. It's a win-win situation, and cleaning it is not as difficult as it may seem.

Phantom

Follow our step-by-step guide to achieve a clean aspiration hob:

After use, allow the hob to cool down before cleaning off any stubborn residues and food stains.

Before cleaning the ceramic glass hob, we recommend activating the child lock feature to prevent any accidental activation. Clean the hob using a cloth with warm water and a small amount of mild dish soap. If you choose to use other cleaning products, make sure they are specifically designed for ceramic glass hobs. Follow the instructions on the packaging for each product.

Avoid using the following cleaning agents as they can damage the hob's ceramic glass surface:

  • Descaling or stain and rust removers
  • Dishwashing detergents intended for dishwashers
  • Window cleaners
  • Cleaning agents containing soda, ammonia, acids, or chlorides
  • Sponges
  • Abrasive brushes
  • Solvents
  • Stain erasers
  • Sharp objects
  • Products for cleaning ovens and grills
  • Any type of steam cleaner, as steam can reach live parts and cause a short circuit

To prevent damage to the hob's edges, follow these guidelines:

  • Use only warm water with a small amount of mild soap.
  • Avoid using sharp utensils or abrasive cleaners.
  • Do not use a glass scraper.

Grill

Several of our models feature a grill, such as the Phantom Prime. The grill is not dishwasher-safe and should be washed by hand with warm water and non-abrasive mild soap. Thoroughly dry the grill to prevent rust. Use a glass scraper to remove any remaining dirt, being careful not to harm yourself with the scraper.

Dishwasher Cleaning

Most removable parts of your aspiration hob can be cleaned in the dishwasher. The grease filters are easily removable and can be cleaned in the dishwasher. Washing these parts in the dishwasher may cause slight fading of colour, but it does not affect their effectiveness. Check the manual for your product before placing the parts in the dishwasher.

Empty Drip Tray/Collection Container

The drip tray or collection container should be emptied regularly. The container is equipped with a special valve for easy emptying of any liquids. It collects water from boiled-over pots, and it needs to be emptied regularly. Accessing the container for emptying may vary depending on the model. Consult your manual for detailed instructions.

Sugar on the Hob Should be Removed Immediately

If sugar, plastic, or aluminium foil comes into contact with the hot hob, it is recommended to turn it off. Immediately remove these substances from the cooking zone using a scraper, even if the hob is still hot. Failure to do so may cause damage to the ceramic glass when the substances cool down. (Warning: risk of burns!) Clean the cooking zone thoroughly after it has cooled down.

Markings on the Hob

The markings on the hob may wear off when using abrasive cleaning agents, steel wool, or pots with rough bottoms. Do not use these products for cleaning. However, this does not affect the correct functioning of the appliance in any way.

You always achieve the best results and prolong the lifespan of your hob by following the manufacturer's instructions for cleaning and maintenance. Remember, you can always refer to the manuals on our website for the specific product.

NOTE: All the topics mentioned in this section are purely aesthetic and do not affect the proper functioning of the appliance in any way. They cannot be restored under warranty.
