Items that should not be placed in the dishwasher

These are the items you should not put in your dishwasher:
- Cigarette ash, candle wax residue, polish, paint, chemical substances, and iron alloys.
- Forks, spoons, and knives with wooden, bone, ivory, or mother-of-pearl handles, glued objects, or objects soiled with abrasive, acidic, or alkaline chemicals.
- Plastic items that are not heat-resistant, pre-coppered or pre-tinned containers.
- Aluminium and silver items (they may become discoloured and dull).
- Certain delicate glass types, painted porcelain (as the paint may fade after the first wash), certain crystal items (as they may become dull over time), non-heat-resistant glued cutlery, lead crystal glasses, cutting boards, and items made of synthetic fibres.
- Absorbent items such as sponges and dishcloths are not suitable for dishwasher use.
